The future is not apocalyptic. The future is not utopian. The future, as fate would have it, is hilarious.

Meet Schlock, Legs, Tagon, and the rest of the mercenaries of "Tagon's Toughs," a small company dragooned into government service by the rotund General Xinchub. The scary fat man is going to pay them to hunt down their friends... unless they give him a reason to blow them up without paying them at all.

This is the first-ever print collection of Schlock Mercenary comics, and is the third book, chronologically. It includes the complete "Under New Management" story, plus all new footnotes, Sunday-style coloring on every strip, sketches galore, deck plans of the Serial Peacemaker, a group 'photo,' and a bonus 'origins' story about Sergeant Schlock and his first plasma cannon.

These 80 full-color glossy pages are a must-have for fans of the comic, and a perfect primer for everyone else.

Do you really need me to tell you it's good? If you have doubts go read most of the book in the archives then decide.

Howard Tayler's best book yet October 31, 2006
Reviewer: Jeremy Thurgood from Cape Town, South Africa
Schlock Mercenary: Under New Management is a remastered and improved version of a story arc from Howard Tayler's eminently brilliant webcomic Schlock Mercenary.  It kept me entertained from the moment I picked it up until I finally reached the last pasge, sadly undefaced by the cartoonist.  During the whole process, I paused only to turn pages and wipe away the tears of laughter before they could drip on the pages.

The first online comic book I've ever bought.  The quality of the book is fantastic, as well as the comic and added material.  I especially enjoy the Tagon drawn on the last page.  Its a nice touch.

Consistently excellent story arcs - thank you!
I was so glad when Schlock went into book form!  And I'm not sure how I missed getting the new one not on the date of the "will deface your book for you" - can only plead a time warp of some sort, because I was counting down the days 'til it arrived and then it was gone before I got mine.  Ah, well.
Am very much looking forward to reading the new book - have enjoyed the online strip for 4 years or so and have gotten a number of other people hooked on it as well.
I sincerely hope that Howard chooses to do a book of the first couple of years of strips, because I think that story line, while the art may not be the best ever, is kick ass and should be put out there with all the rest of it.  My kids are also enjoying reading the book, and I'm sure they'll enjoy the next one as well.
